I am the 27-year-old daughter of someone who has had recurrent, metastatic cholangiocarcinoma for over 5 years, and I have finally decided to start writing about it. Partly this is because I have found some solace in the blogs of other people w/ cancer, and ALS, and other horrific and debilitating diseases who cope with grace & humor. Partly it’s because I want to chronicle not just her cancer experience but the other parts of our life that are wonderful, and meaningful, and are not shit (cancer is, as you may have heard, pretty much just unremitting shit.) This is about my mom’s cancer, and my not-cancer, and cancer in general, and probably Alaska will be in there too, and maybe some stuff about the dog.
